The Faculty of Agriculture was founded in 1852 and has a rich teaching and research experience at national and international level, being the oldest and most prestigious agronomic higher education institution in Romania.

The Faculty of Agriculture prepares highly qualified specialists in the fields of agronomy, forestry and biology. It also carries out scientific research activities in the areas of agriculture, food safety and security, the environment and biotechnology.

The graduates of the Faculty of Agriculture acquire qualifications in order to meet the demands of the labor market in the production, services, scientific research, education, expertise and consulting sectors, laboratory analyzes and determinations, agribusiness, insurance, administration, integrated management of agricultural farms, forestry and rural areas.

The Faculty of Agriculture organizes university studies on three cycles:
• Cycle I - Bachelor studies;
• Cycle II - Master studies;
• Cycle III - Doctoral studies.

The Faculty of Agriculture has two departments:

• Department of Soil Sciences, with 23 teaching staff and the following groups:
   o Pedology;
   o Agrotechnics;
   o Agrochemistry;
   o Mechanization;
   o Forestry.

• Department of Plant Sciences, with 28 teaching staff and the following groups:
   o Crop production;
   o Genetics and plant breeding;
   o Plant protection;
   o Biology.

The Faculty of Agriculture has its own educational spaces (amphitheaters, classrooms and laboratories) in the main building of the University, Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry and Agrotechnics Buildings, as well as spaces for tractors and agricultural machines.

The faculty's laboratories are equipped with the necessary equipment for carrying out in good conditions practical and research activities. There are specialized laboratories as follows:

1. Mechanization of agriculture: 3 laboratories (located in two agricultural machinery halls), equipped with tractors, agricultural machinery for field crops, horticultural and animal husbandry, 3 seminar rooms, each for 30 students.
2. Pedology: a laboratory for mineralogy and a laboratory for physics and soil chemistry, each for 30 students, equipped with Kubiena pipettes, penetrometers, pH meters, conductors, infiltration meters, collections of minerals and rocks, dioramas for the main soil types, collections of micromonolytes; 1 laboratory of informatics; 1 unique museum with soil profiles in Romania.
3. Agrochemistry: 2 laboratories, each for 25 students and 3 research laboratories, equipped with balances, ionometers, atomic absorption spectrophotometers, flame photometers, a plant house with associated equipment, etc.
4. Genetics and Plant Breeding: 3 laboratories, each for 25 students, equipped with balances, microscopes, magnetic stirrers, lux-meters, binoculars etc .; a didactic and experimental field at USAMV Bucharest.
5. Agrotechnics: 2 laboratories, each for 30 students, equipped with ovens, balances, infiltration meters; 1 soil biology laboratory with appropriate equipment; a seminar room for the discipline of Experimental Technique equipped with computers; a teaching and experimental field at the Moara Domnească.
6. Entomology and Phytopathology: 3 laboratories, each for 25 students, equipped with microscopes, stereomicroscopes, binoculars, herbarium, wet collections, micropreparations and insect collections, anatomo-morphological preparations.
7. Crop Production: 2 laboratories of field crop production, 1 laboratory for fodder plants and 1 laboratory for environmental protection, each for 30 students, equipped with didactic collections (plants and seeds) and complete equipment for phytotechnical determinations and analyzes; 1 laboratory of quality of agricultural products; 1 laboratory of informatics; a teaching and experimental field at Moara Domnească for field and forage crops; 1 didactic and experimental field in USAMV Bucharest for field crops and medicinal and aromatic crops; 1 unique museum for field crops and forage crops; a library.
8. Chemistry and Biochemistry: 2 laboratories, each equipped for 25 students, including spectrophotometers, electrophoresis apparatus, polarimeter, pH meter, calciner, balances.
9. Computer science: 1 laboratory with 15 computers.

For the specialization Biology, the Faculty of Agriculture has laboratories of zoology of invertebrates, zoology of vertebrates, plant morphology and anatomy, systematic botany, and also has spaces where plant collections, ornithological collections are organized, as well as and an experimental field at USAMV Bucharest campus.

For the Physical Education and Sport discipline, the students use the sports hall with 800 seats and the football, volleyball, basketball, field tennis, athletics fields, located in the same area.

For some disciplines, the Faculty of Agriculture collaborates with the other faculties of USAMV Bucharest: for the horticultural subjects (Vegetable, Viticulture, Fruit Growing) and Botanical and Plant Physiology, the Faculty of Agriculture uses the facilities of the Faculty of Horticulture; for Land Improvement disciplines, there are used the facilities of the Faculty for Land Improvement and Environmental Engineering; for some biological subjects (cytology, histology and embryology, animal physiology, biotechnology) students have access to the material base of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and the Faculty of Biotechnology; for the zootechnics subjects the Faculty of Agriculture uses the facilities of the Faculty of Animal Husbandry.

The Faculty of Agriculture has an internet network with its own server that hosts the web page of the faculty www.agro-bucuresti.ro and its own messaging service Această adresă de email este protejată contra spambots. Trebuie să activați JavaScript pentru a o vedea..

The students of the faculty have access to the central library of USAMV Bucharest, as well as to the libraries existing at the level of different departments, such as: the library of the Crop Production Group; Library of the Biology Group. In the current training process, the Faculty of Agriculture uses the Belciugatele Didactic and Experimental Station and the Moara Domnească Farm.

The scientific research activities are carried out in the Research Center for Sustainable Agriculture. Also, the faculty has an fully equipped Agro-phytotechnical Research Laboratory located at Moara Domnească.

All students of the faculty are living in modern and fully equipped hostels in the USAMV campus in Bucharest. The students also benefit from other facilities such as: cafeteria, buffet, medical office, church, student club, disco club, parks etc.
